The history dates back to 1951. It is a sailing sports club operating under the auspices of the Slovak Sailing Association. Circumnavigation and sea yachting are the main activities for many years. The base is the yachting shipyard on the Sunny Lakes in Senec and the yachting shipyard and dock VDG YACHT CENTRUM on the Gabčíkovo Waterworks on the Danube near the town of Šamorín. Sailing on the Danube, one of the longest rivers in Europe, starts in the harbour at the Hrušov reservoir. The harbour is located on the outskirts of Šamorín, 25 kilometres from Dunajská Streda. The vast expanse of the Danube is impressive not only from the shore, but also directly from the water. Observe the beautiful nature and historical places directly from the boat, sail through the locks of the Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power station. Take an adrenaline-fuelled or romantic water trip on one of Europe’s longest rivers. You can also admire our unique nature and historical places on the route Gabčíkovo, Čunovo, Bratislava, Devín, Hainburg an der Donau. The more adventurous can try water skiing, SUP, canoeing and surfing. Choose from a range of activities that can be enjoyed in small groups or individually, providing unique experiences for all ages.
