The Dolný Bar pond is part of a system of several ponds (peat bogs) that were created in the 1960s–1970s through peat extraction. The pond is located in the southeastern part of Žitný ostrov, covers an area of 18.5 hectares, and lies in the outer area of the municipality of Dolný Bar in the Dunajská Streda District. The average depth of the pond is 1.5–2 meters, and its length is 1.5 km. Fishing is permitted on the left side of the pond.
