The Baroque manor house in Tomášov was built between 1766 and 1769 by Baron Ján Jeszenák as a prestigious countryside aristocratic residence. Constructed in the Classicist Austrian Baroque style, it stands on a rise known as Majorháza, surrounded by the meanders of the Little Danube and a floodplain forest. The three-wing building featuring a courtyard of honor earned a reputation as an exceptionally luxurious residence right from its inception, as evidenced by 18th-century travelogues.

During restoration work, valuable wall paintings were uncovered beneath layers of plaster, including a unique print cabinet decorated with illusionistic frames and Netherlandish engravings. Over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries, ownership of the manor passed to prominent families such as the Draškóci, Vay, and ultimately the Strasser families.

At the turn of the century, a chapel was added to the east wing, which today is newly rededicated to the Guardian Angels. During World War I, the building served as a military hospital, and shortly after the war ended, it was devastated by a major fire. The subsequent restoration delicately preserved the Baroque exterior while instilling an elegant Art Deco style into the interior.

Following its nationalization in 1948, the manor was used as a juvenile reformatory, which led to its gradual decay.

After its restitution in the 1990s and subsequent extensive restoration by its new owners, the historic landmark regained its former glory.

Today, the building houses the stylish Art Hotel Kaštieľ, combining a historic ambiance with luxury hotel services. The estate includes an extensive English park, created by transforming the original floodplain forest, which continues to provide an ideal setting for relaxation and cultural events.
