A significant monument of the town is the Amade Castle (currently a retirement home), built in the 17th century on the site of a former water castle. The Renaissance castle was later renovated in the 18th century in the Baroque style by Count Amade Tádé. It is said that Joseph II, the son of Empress Maria Theresa, who later became the emperor and king of Hungary, was born on the upper floor of the southern bastion of the castle.
