The Church of the Sacred Heart in Komárno was originally built as a Franciscan church in 1769, replacing an earlier church and monastery destroyed by the 1763 earthquake. After the Franciscans left in 1809, the complex was taken over by the military, and the church became known as the Military Church. This Late Baroque single-nave building features elegant vaulted interiors and fine architectural details. Today, the restored monument serves as a venue for contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events.
