A church mentioned in the list of Archbishop Péter Pázmány is documented by records as early as 1390. This was a Gothic church that likely vanished during the Turkish wars. Neither its exact location nor its appearance is known. On the square in the Uzor district stands the Roman Catholic Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, built in 1883 in the Neoremanesque style with Neogothic elements. It is a single-nave building with a polygonal apse, featuring a pointed vault with transverse ribs. The gabled facade is topped by a small built-in turret housing one bronze bell. The facades are divided by pilaster strips (lesenes), windows with framed surrounds and three keystones, and a prominent multi-band Neoremanesque cornice. The main facade features a stylized arched frieze. A sacristy is attached to the chapel. The main altar is contemporary with the building’s construction, featuring a polychrome sculpture of the Madonna in a niche above it.
