The Roman Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi stands in the center of the village of Kalinkovo, which is a branch of the Dunajská Lužná parish. It was built between 1927 and 1929 based on the designs of the builder Elefánty. The church was constructed in a historicist style, using Neoremanesque elements to broadly resemble the old church that stood in the village at the time and was later demolished in 1936. With the help of collections from the faithful, donations from various institutions, and voluntary work by local residents, the church was completed and solemnly consecrated in 1930. The main altar dates from the time of construction and features statues of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Florian, and St. Wendelin, flanked by two sculptures of cherubs. The paintings of the Stations of the Cross are the work of the painter Jozef Nagy. In the nave, beneath the choir, there is a small plaque inscribed: “ANNO DOMINI 1929.” The organ was manufactured in 1930 by the Schänhoffer & Son company in Bratislava in a Neogothic style. It has not been used since 1975 and is currently replaced by an electric organ. There are two bronze bells in the tower, both cast by the Richard Herold company in Chomutov in 1930.
