The Martyrs’ Memorial was erected in 1971 and created by Ján Nagy, a sculptor from Komárno. The group of figures, made of welded red copper sheets, depicts human bones, symbolically reminding viewers of the horrors of war. On the high pedestal, in front of a stylized eternal flame, the years 1939–1945 are inscribed.
After 1989, the monument was supplemented with six granite tombstones – three on each side – bearing the names and birth dates of Hungarian soldiers who died during the war.
