On July 29, 1784, Count István Zichy, the landlord of the land, designated the place donated to the Reformed believers for the construction of the church in the presence of officials, and the Count also gave a donation letter on November 26 of the same year. The construction of the church began in 1785, but due to lack of funds the church without a tower was completed only in 1788, and it was consecrated on 2 November of that year. Before the church was completed, a bell was purchased in 1787 (18 July) and mounted on the belfry in front of the parish, only to be placed in the tower on 24 September 1797.
