The church in Topoľníky was built in 1754 in honor of the Virgin Mary. The originally Gothic Roman Catholic church was later rebuilt in Classical style.
In front of the choir, on both the right and left sides, frescoes depicting Christ’s miracles decorate the walls. On the ceiling in front of the altar, the Seven Sacraments are illustrated, with two additional scenes on the side walls. On the wall opposite the altar, the Last Supper is depicted on the right, and St. Peter’s Pentecost sermon on the left, while the altar features the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
On the left side of the main altar stands a statue of St. Paul, and on the right side a statue of St. Peter. The wall paintings were created in the 1970s by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava.
