The life-size bronze Statue of Saint Stephen stands in Komárno near Franz Lehár Park. Created by Hungarian sculptor Lajos Győrfi, it was unveiled on 20 August 2009, the feast day of Saint Stephen. The monument honours the first King of Hungary, during whose reign, around the year 1000, Komárno became the seat of one of the oldest counties in the Kingdom of Hungary.
