The Gabčíkovo Water Works was constructed between 1977 and 1992 primarily to protect the area from floods, improve navigation conditions, ensure the quality of drinking water, and generate electricity. Cycling enthusiasts can take a bike tour around the Gabčíkovo Water Works. In addition to cycling, visitors should not miss the stunning panorama of the Danube River that unfolds before them from the observation tower, as well as the natural surroundings of the river.
