The Váh River is the longest river in Slovakia and forms the eastern border of the Žitný ostrov, flowing into the Danube in the town of Komárno. The floodplain forests along the river are similar to those that enrich the banks of the Danube. Some sections of the river are sandy, almost “beach-like,” which makes it easier for paddlers to venture onto the water. The one-day water tour we offer starts in the town of Kolárovo and ends in Komárno at the confluence of the two rivers. The total distance is 23 km, providing a 5-hour rafting experience for active tourism enthusiasts. However, if you are interested in extending the water tour, both the starting point and the destination can accommodate this request. Kolárovo is home to perhaps the most famous water mill of the Žitný Island, a boat mill that represents the agricultural history of the region. Komárno is also a perfect destination for a city tour, especially for history lovers, as it features a fortification system and General Klapka Square, both of which are must-see attractions.
