We will meet on the banks of the old riverbed of the Danube near Dobrohošť. We will load the bicycles onto the bike trailer and rollerblades into our car.
Next, we will have an instruction session, distribute paddles, and life jackets. After boarding the 8-seat catamarans, we will set off down the beautiful old channel of the Danube (where no boats operate anymore) towards Gabčíkovo. Along the way, we will stop twice at interesting places and enjoy a nice view of the forgotten waterworks of Dunakiliti.
After an hour and a half of sailing, we will stop at the fish ladder in Denkpál on the Hungarian bank of the Danube. In the beautiful surroundings, under the shade of tall trees, we will have a small picnic and recharge our energy. If the weather is suitable, we can swim in the Danube bay or in the warmer Danube backwaters, in a natural whirlpool. After the break, we will continue swiftly downstream towards Gabčíkovo. Along the way, if we are lucky, we might see a heron, cormorant, kingfisher, and even traces of beavers.
After an hour of sailing, we will arrive at the ferry port in Dunaremete, where we will make another stop by a large dam. The last half hour to our destination will pass very quickly.
In Gabčíkovo, we will conclude our trip at the ferry port, where your steeds will be waiting for you. You are all warmly invited to enjoy coffee, tea, or non-alcoholic drinks at the local buffet!
