Cycling Tour: Veľký Lél – Zemianska Olča

The observation tower, built as part of the project "Let's Clean the Danube Shore Together!", offers a beautiful view of the nature surrounding Veľké Kosihy, as well as the Danube Floodplain near the village, which is a protected area and provides a home to numerous bird species.

Near the village, there is a horseshoe-shaped oxbow lake that formed in 1899 due to the breaching of the dam. Although the damage caused by the flood was incalculable, the ecosystem created here is invaluable, as it provides a home to a large number of species of fauna and flora. One of the most valuable protected areas in Central Europe is also suitable for receiving tourists, as curious visitors can enjoy an educational trail (except during the nesting period) that brings them close to nature. If you choose this tour and pass through Číčov, be sure not to miss the Zichy-Kálnoky Manor and its park.

The Danube Nature Park was established to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the region, as well as to promote rural development, environmental education, and the development of "soft" tourism with regional support. At the Environmental Education Center (SEV) SAŽP Dropie, visitors can find many interesting features: a gazebo with a thatched roof, a sensory path, living willow structures, a birdwatching observatory, and a zip line. The center regularly organizes programs to help visitors better understand and appreciate the charming region of Žitný ostrov.
