The Museum of Rural Culture and the Craft Yard in Miloslavov invite visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of the Danube region, located just 13 km from Šamorín. The exhibition is housed in a sensitively renovated 13th-century former church, which today stands as a landmark of the village.
The museum’s mission is to showcase the lives of farmers and fishermen in the past century and to preserve the traditions of our ancestors. The entire space exudes peace and harmony, being situated off the beaten path of noisy tourist routes. On the ground floor, traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, woodcarving, weaving, and pottery are presented. Visitors can not only purchase souvenirs here but also handcraft their own gifts using traditional techniques. The first floor offers an excursion into the ancient history of the Danube region, from the Bronze Age to the periods of Roman and Ottoman invasions. The exhibition spaces are complemented by documentary films about the fauna, flora, and technical monuments around the Danube. In the attic, an authentic atmosphere of peasant homes awaits, featuring original furniture, clothing, and the equipment of an old school. This extraordinary place serves as a living wellspring of discovery for younger generations and a gateway to a deeper understanding of the region.
