On Main Street in the town, we find one of the most prominent buildings in the panorama of Dunajská Streda, the Town Hall, which was built in 1901. After several renovations, a tower was added above the entrance as part of the transformation of the town’s skyline designed by Imre Makovecz, which began in 1995. A memorial plaque honoring Imre Makovecz, an honorary citizen of the town, was also placed at the entrance to the building. Right next to the building is the Memorial to the Victims of Dictatorship, a work by academic sculptor János Nagy.
