The Classical-style church in Jurová dates from 1778 and was modified in 1927. It is a single-nave building with a straight-ended presbytery and a built-in gallery, covered with a Prussian vault. The façade is plain. Its slender tower is incorporated into the front façade, articulated by pilaster frames and topped with a pyramidal spire. The main altar features a projecting mensa and a suspended painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary from the first half of the 19th century. The pulpit is Classical in style and dates from 1778.

Arnold Ipolyi, a renowned scholar of the architectural monuments of the Žitný ostrov region, wrote about the church in Jurová: “Jurová (Bratislava County), formerly known as György-Soka-, Suka-, or Sika, has been documented since 1253. Visitation records from Baka – as Jurová once belonged to the parish of Baka – state that the church in Jurová was consecrated in 1519 by the deputy of Bishop Epiphanius and Archbishop Bakács. It is therefore probable that the earlier church was originally built in the Gothic style. A newer nave was later added to this older, reconstructed structure. A legend mentioned by Karcsay (Új Magy. Muz., 1852) claims that the church was placed in its present location by angels – a motif also associated with other pilgrimage churches.”
Jurová was one of the ancestral estates of the Erdődi Pálffy family, as well as of the Erős and Katona families.

In 1755, the church was enlarged and a tower was added. The western part was demolished in 1788 and replaced with a new structure. The new building was consecrated in 1808 by Péter Ürményi. The church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
