The Trinity Column dating from 1715 is the oldest monument located in public spaces in the town of Komárno. The erection of the column is linked to local events of Rákóczi’s uprising, as evidenced by the inscription on the southern side of the pedestal, as well as to the great plague epidemic of 1710–1711, which is described in the inscription on the northern side of the pedestal.
At the top of the column stands a sculptural group depicting the Holy Trinity and the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. The pedestal features figures of five saints who were invoked during epidemics: St Anthony, St Sebastian, St Rosalia, St Roch, and St Francis Xavier. On the front relief appears the figure of St Charles Borromeo. For each saint, a Latin hexameter with a chronogram (1715) is engraved on the cornice of the pedestal.
